Meet the Team
At Motherhood in Mind, we understand that becoming a mother is one of the most profound psychological transitions a person can experience.
Alongside joy and love, pregnancy, birth, fertility journeys, and early parenthood can also bring uncertainty, trauma, and emotional distress.
We created Motherhood in Mind to offer compassionate, and reputable evidence-based psychological support for women and families navigating this season of life. Our work is grounded in the understanding that maternal wellbeing matters deeply; not only for mothers themselves, but for babies, relationships, and families as a whole.
Our approach combines specialist perinatal psychological expertise with warmth, curiosity, and humanity. We understand that every experience of motherhood is different, shaped by our personal histories, relationships, culture, identity, and the expectations placed upon us as women. We also understand that finding the right support can feel like a minefield. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all advice, we aim to create a space where people feel seen, understood, and supported without judgement.
Our small team brings together carefully selected, professionally accredited therapists with specialist expertise in perinatal mental health, so you can feel confident that your care is in experienced hands.
If you have any questions about who might be the best fit for you, please do reach out and we’ll be more than happy to discuss this with you.
Dr Jesse Ofori
Perinatal Clinical Psychologist, Founder and Clinical DirectorJess is a Clinical Psychologist specialising in perinatal mental health and the founder of Motherhood in Mind. She works with women and parents experiencing psychological difficulties across fertility, pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.
Jesse has particular expertise in anxiety, intrusive thoughts and OCD, birth trauma and PTSD, depression, self-esteem and the psychological adjustment to becoming a parent. Her approach is integrative and formulation-led, drawing on evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) and trauma-focused approaches including EMDR.
She founded Motherhood in Mind to offer thoughtful, specialist therapy that goes beyond symptom management; helping people understand why they feel the way they do, what may be keeping difficulties going, and what can help them to thrive in early motherhood.
As with the rest of the team, Jess is a mum herself and brings an appreciation of how joyful, messy, demanding, and deeply transformative this life stage can be.
Elizabeth Siddell
Specialist Perinatal PsychotherapistElizabeth is a specialist perinatal psychotherapist and mum of three, offering evidence-based support to individuals and couples through the complicated bits of early parenthood. She has almost 20 years' experience working in NHS services and delivers specialist perinatal teaching, training therapists for the NHS alongside her therapy work.
Elizabeth is experienced in working with difficulties such as PTSD, birth trauma, childhood trauma, pregnancy loss, anxiety, OCD, low mood, and relationship issues. She draws on a range of approaches to tailor therapy to you; this might include thinking about what becoming a parent has brought up from your own experiences, as well as working on practical strategies to change unhelpful patterns and feel relief in the here and now.
Whether you're pregnant, postnatal, or navigating the demands of a toddler. Whether you're coming alone or with your partner. Elizabeth offers a space to be honest about how hard things can be, without performing how well you're coping.
Frances Wild
Specialist Perinatal Cognitive Behavioural TherapistFran is a specialist Perinatal Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) with extensive experience supporting women and families through pregnancy, the postnatal period, and the emotional challenges of early parenthood. Alongside her specialist CBT training, she has completed skills training in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), enabling her to integrate evidence-based approaches tailored to each client's needs.
She is currently undertaking further training in Behavioural Couples Therapy for Depression and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), both due for completion in September, reflecting her commitment to continually expanding her clinical expertise. Alongside her private practice, Fran has worked within a specialist NHS Perinatal Community Mental Health Team, supporting parents experiencing a wide range of perinatal mental health difficulties.
As a mother herself, she brings both professional expertise and personal understanding to her work, offering a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to make meaningful and lasting change.
“It was you that reduced me to the rubble of myself, and then built me back up stronger.”
