
About the Course
Birth is unpredictable, whether it is your first or your fifteenth. Sometimes things happen during this event that leave negative imprints on your mind, those things may or may not be deemed as traumatic to other people, but this is irrelevant. YOU are the one who experienced it, YOU are the one it has left its mark on. When you try and talk to friends and family about how you are feeling you may be met with the “Oh, but least it's over now” or “You and baby are fine now, that is what is important”. Although these people mean well, it is not always as simple as that. Traumatic events can actually “rewire” your brain, meaning you can’t just “get over it” and “move on” unless you treat it properly. There are many different therapies that can help. Here at MiM we have the advantage of being skilled in multi-therapy working. You won’t ever be asked to talk through your trauma unless you want to (this isn’t needed for the therapy to be successful but we understand that you may feel you want to). As a midwife, I have a deep understanding of the processes and events that may have brought you to this point and am happy to go through these elements if you think it would benefit you. But, again, this isn’t necessary for your healing.
